OUR STORY

Chloé Bidne is an experienced designer with a lifelong passion to create spaces that provide stability, joy, comfort, and inspiration. 

She has dedicated her efforts not only to studying design, but also to bringing people home through refugee resettlement programs.  She believes good design has the power to change the world and plans to always be a student of what that looks like.

Meet Chloé

After working in a fast paced design environment where the goal’s prioritized immediacy and instant gratification, Chloé realized this was not sustainable for the design firm, for the clients who would ultimately require maintenance, refurbishment, a change with the trends, etc., or the planet.  It was her great desire to slow down and move forward with intentionality.  She knew this would come at a loss of immediate output, but it felt not only worth it, but necessary. 

Dollhaus Designs was founded on the belief that, together, we can play our small part in moving forward with awareness that our homes and our actions outlive us all.  We are stewards of this earth, and it is an honor to add to its landscape the spaces where we find shelter, comfort, rejuvenation, and so much more.   

This is not an original concept.  For thousands of years, craftspeople have taken care to respect the earth and their communities in their work.  They have paid homage to the source of their creations and inspiration, and have passed down wisdom and awareness. 

At Dollhaus Designs, we are dedicated to learning from those who have come before us and those who have invested their time, attention, and work to such.  Our podcast invites you to learn along side us as we bring in makers, designers, researchers and innovators who have paved the way.
